Every f*cking time I load a new animation there's this girl talking about detergent. Every time I have to try to shut down the volume and it gets more and more annoying. What's up with that? Don't you think that a n ad with sound is a bit distracting, especially when it loads while watching a flash movie?

So just a follow-up, Tom is currently out of town but occasionally advertisers try and sneak in sound-enabled ads even though its in the terms that ng doesnt allow them. This is not usually under ng control. Its the ad company that sells inventory and then filters it into the site, so often its not obvious that has happend until you the users bring up the red flag on it.

So hang in there, itll be pulled off of circulation soon enough. Tom was out of town over the weekend.

I completely agree, the first time I hear it I was in the middle of a game and was like "what the hell is that?!"
took me many other flash games later to finally realize who was talking...

True, it makes watching a flash movie so much more complicated! You have to wait for the ad to load, then struggle to shut down the sound... and even then the sound is still kinda here. AAAAAAAA

Sometimes I'll load up five or six entries in the flash portal at once and then press PLAY when I'm ready to watch one. Now, of course, I can't do this lest I be bombarded with voices and obnoxious sounds.

Yeah. I have multiple tabs all the time so ads with sound makes me very confused. Sometimes I even think there are voices in my head.

I accidentally blammed a flash when I first heard it...I was in the MIDDLE of voting on Under Judgement flashes when they made the switch; it had to have been in the middle, because I had never heard it before. And every time I loaded this flash, that lady talking about laundry detergent would start talking, and it had nothing to do with what's going on.

I said, "This sucks" and zero'd it.

Then I go to the next flash and it did it again, and I was like, "wait...wtf!?" and that's when I knew.

At least they give you the option to mute it...we'll get used to it eventually. That, or the ads will change in time.

Although it's annoying. I think it's only fair since these people have made and given us a game for free. The least we can do is put up with one of the only ways they'll get the money they deserve.

Are you talking about the new 'commercialesque' advertisements packaged into the API preloaders or actuall banner ads on the site that are on the header?

I remember mochi being the first to try those media ads inside their preloaders, from what I've heard they've been received very negatively, but advertisers obviously love them because they dont need to do anything to create them they are just leveraging the money they already spent on their tv ad campaigns.

Those help pay for the site and in turn help give true contributors some revenue, so I'm not gonna bitch about watching /playing free content.

Having to do that every time is really a pain. I usually load a couple of movie and watch them in a row... I can't do that or I have to wait for the ad to be over.

I don't mind ads in the preloader or anywhere on the site, but all the way at the bottom with sound is just plain annoying. I'm sure there's a lot of money to be made, but I still think it's a bad idea since it makes browsing newgrounds an unpleasant experience. Imagine if youtube played sounds while you play your video...

It ruined some movies to me, like the ones starting right away after it loaded (theweebl and so on). I would have the ad sound and the movie's sound at the same time. I could scroll down and turn the ads' sound off but in that case I can't see the movie for a bit. You can't say that's a good idea even thought it's fair that contributors get paid, I'm sure there is a better way.

They shouldn't play on the site's ad system, which they do.

The preloader ads are okay because you can shut them off before you start your game/movie.

I have my vision mode on classic, maybe people who view it on the modern version aren't having this problem.
